COMMISSION RATES - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

You need to know how the commission works and who pays for the real estate services received by both the buyer and seller.

Commissions are not set. The agent can charge what he wishes or his Company requires him to charge.

Only the Seller pays commission from the proceeds of the sale.

The Buyer does not pay any commission. However, a Buyer’s Agent is required to disclose the amount they are paid by the Seller’s Agent. The Buyer’s Agent is paid by the Listing Agent from the commission he charges his client. The amount is posted on the MLS Listing for public information.
